Working in a Shop during Covid
This project was for an animation course in university, in which I had to base the subject of the animation on something that had been in the news.
Working in a shop during covid lockdown was an annoying experience, mainly due to the customers
that refused to follow the public safety guidance. My anger and frustration were put into this short
animation. My original plan was to address my anger in a more comical fashion becoming
increasingly angry through my narration at the customers who ignored the safety guidelines. I felt
uncomfortable using my voice in this film and chose to use subtitles. This unfortunately changed the
effect of the film I had hoped for. It did give me the opportunity to explore some new software like
Houdini for the smoke effects, Bifrost for the fluid simulation and motion pathing for the simply
designed customer models. The project helped develop my skills and understanding of the process
of animation which I enjoyed.
I produced this independently.
